6. Implementing the Rural Strategy – November AP05/43 (46kb word)
The implementation of the Rural Strategy 2004 continues to drive the activities and corporate entity of the Countryside Agency in the direction of travel of LAR and CRC.
7. Corporate Governance AP05/44 (99kb word)
The Board are asked to delegate authority to the LAR taskgroup to take certain decisions in relation to Natural England, to note that the CRC and LAR taskgroups should continue to submit regular reports to the Board, to recommend that the CRC and LAR taskgroups review their roles, and to review corporate governance arrangements again at the Board’s meeting in February 2006.
8. Financial Report for Quarter 2 AP05/45 (81kb word)
The Quarterly Review process is a critical element in comparing progress against the Corporate Plan and Business Plans. It helps inform the Executive and Board of key issues and is the vehicle for proposing and agreeing changes.
9. The Community Renewables Initiative AP05/46 (67kb word)
The Countryside Agency is recommended to celebrate the success of the Community Renewables Initiative and pass on the lessons learned;work with DTI and Defra to take forward Option 3 of the Community Renewables Futures Report;in the short term, work with the Local Support Teams (LSTs) and their regional partners to either embed them within existing renewable energy support mechanisms or bring projects to a close, by April 2006; and cease its involvement in the CRI from 1 April 2006.
10. Discovering Lost Ways: First Monitoring Report AP05/47 (99kb word)
We are carrying out the Discovering Lost Ways project to meet a commitment by Defra flowing from the Rural White Paper, and the work will contribute significantly to extending opportunities for the public to enjoy the countryside on the discovered routes.
