Nightingale Wood
'Fabulous new woodland with lots of paths providing circular or linear walks. A variety of trees at different stages of growth provide fantastic wildlife habitats, especially for birds, for which a hide is provided. Parking available and good access to all areas.' This 52 hectare woodland on the outskirts of Swindon is near the village of South Marston. Paths and tracks have been surfaced to allow access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Lots of wildlife to see in this quiet woodland - 3 walks - 1km, 1.5km, 2.5km.
Purton - Timberland Trail
Pleasant walk from Purton to Mouldon Hill Lake and back, passing through Berriman's Wood, over the River Ray and into Mouldon Hill Country Park. Suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, except during or after heavy rain - 4 miles.
Chiseldon - Timberland Trail
This walk links the village of Chiseldon to Coate Water Country Park passing through woodlands and over the hills of the North Wessex Downs (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The route is shared with National Cycle Network Route 45 and is fully accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs and is totally free from motorised traffic - 5 miles round trip.
