Places of interest to see on this walk include The Cross Bath, Theatre Royal, Queen Square, Royal Victoria Park, and the Royal Crescent. The walk finishes by winding through small shopping lanes back towards the Abbey, Roman Baths and Pump Rooms and the Tourist Information office. Pushchair and wheelchair friendly - 1.5 miles
Pensford Wildlife Walk (part of the Why not Walk? series)
Circular wildlife walk rich in local heritage. Starts in pretty village, passes through Culvery Wood and under a very impressive disused viaduct. Lovely river with lots of wildlife interest. 'Many of the hedgerows are hundreds of years old. ‘Hoopers Hedgerow Rule’ states that if you count the number of tree and shrub species in a hedge and multiply by 100 you can estimate the age of the hedge.' 1.5 miles (can be extended to 5 miles by taking further footpaths).
