'Walking the way to Health' Initiative (WHI)

WHI is an initiative of the Countryside Agency and the British Heart Foundation. A five year project, launched in October 2000, WHI aims to improve the health and fitness of over one million people, especially those who do little exercise or live in areas of poor health, by getting them walking in their own communities. 'Walking the way to Health' benefits from extra funding from the New Opportunities Fund (NOF) and sponsorship from Kia Motors, as part of their 'Think Before You Drive' Campaign.
