It is part of a green corridor. offering a diversity of habitats and linking Cromwell Bottom to other natural areas up and downstream of the River Calder.

Directions - By Car
From the North
Leave the M62 at Junction 25, turn right onto the A644 (Wakefield Road). Go straight ahead at the 1st roundabout, turn right at the next & left at the third roundabout onto the A6026 (Elland Road). Follow this road for approx 3.5 miles then turn left by Cromwell House. Park in the small car park behind Cromwell House.
From the South
Leave the M62 at Junction 25, turn right onto the A644 (Wakefield Road). Go straight ahead at the 1st roundabout, turn right at the next & left at the third roundabout onto the A6026 (Elland Road). From the East
Take the A629 (Huddersfield Road) from Halifax. Past the Shell garage on Salterhebble Hill, after approx 1.5 miles the road branches to the left, then take the next left to the A6026 (Elland Road). Follow this road for approx 3 miles then turn right by Cromwell House. Park in the small car park behind Cromwell House.
From the West
Take the A629 (Halifax Road) from Huddersfield. Drive though Elland and across the Canal & the River Calder. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A6026 (Park Road). Follow this road for approx 3.2 miles then turn right by Cromwell House. Park in the small car park behind Cromwell House.
By Bus & Train
The X6 service from Leeds Bus Station stops half a mile from Cromwell Bottom on the A 6025 and takes 60 minutes.
There are trains every 30 minutes Halifax to Hebden Bridge – leave train at Brighouse stop then it’s a mile and half walk.
