Land Use Policy Group

The group, known as the Land Use Policy Group, or simply LUPG, consists of the appropriate policy directors in each of the statutory agencies, supported by two officer groups – the Rural Affairs Group (RAG) dealing primarily with agricultural issues and the Woodland Policy Group (WPG) dealing primarily with forestry issues. RAG and WPG have day to day responsibility for the work and each agency has allocated staff time and money.
By working together, the agencies aim to collaborate on research to inform policy, and to maximise our influence on the policy debate, putting forward common views where possible on key issues.
The link in the top right of this page will take you to the LUPG website where you will be able to see details of their work and research, this currently includes projects on good agricultural and environmental condition, and UK and European rural development programmes.
