The role of Natural England
We monitor conditionally exempt land to ensure that the conditions are met and advise HM Revenue & Customs who have the power to remove exemptions if conditions are not met.

Amanda Mathews is the National Heritage Adviser. She is a Chartered Landscape Architect with MA in conservation studies (historic landscapes and gardens) and specialises in landscape assessment. She leads the provision of advice on outstanding land, undertakes casework and provides landscape advice. Amanda works from home; her work area is the whole of England.

Leslie Pearman is a Chartered Landscape Architect with a degree in Archaeology. Leslie is responsible for casework in SW and SE regions. Leslie is based at the Natural England Exeter office at Dix's Field.
