South Downs National Park (Designation) Variation Order 2004
In September 2003, the Countryside Agency agreed to consult on their proposal to make a Variation Order to include 1.45 sq km of land at Arundel in W. Sussex in the South Downs National Park (Designation) Order 2002. All local authorities within the boundary of the South Downs National Park (including town and parish councils) were consulted on these proposals during October/November 2003.
On the 11th December 2003, the Countryside Agency agreed to make a Variation Order which was signed on the 5th January 2004. The Order was placed on deposit at all local authority offices in the South Downs and at the Countryside Agency's headquarters in Cheltenham between 2nd of February and 1st of March 2004. The Order was then considered together with the Designation Order at the public inquiry which began in November 2003. A copy of the Variation Order can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
