These are optional elements of the Development Plan Document, produced by a local planning authority as a planning framework for areas of change or conservation, to ensure that the most appropriate type of development takes place in an area.

Planning Obligations  (146kb pdf)
A requirement for a developer to provide benefits or improvements when developing a site; used creatively, they can deliver the public benefits a community has identified it wants.

Concept Statements (157kb pdf)
Used by planning authorities to describe the type, characteristics and form of development they seek for a site, indicating the type of development proposal they would welcome.  Encourage meaningful participation between the community, the developer and the local planning authority.
