Recording Other Access Rights

Section 15 (s15) of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 (CROW) identifies land where there are rights of access on foot or higher rights, such as horse riding, set up under enactments preceding CROW. Records of the land affected by such rights have not previously been collated or transferred onto a modern mapping system.

We have researched and mapped known s15 land and are aware there are gaps and uncertainties in the data collected. This project aims to raise awareness of s15 and the opportunities available and decide how best to proceed, including the approach and timescale for review of the records.
